The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China has recently published the preliminary list of candidates for the First Batch of National Demonstration Bases for Emerging Industries. Leveraging its comprehensive strengths in safety and emergency equipment, CSSC Emergency Response, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), has been selected from numerous applicants across the country.
A total of 112 enterprises are included in this first round. They cover ten key strategic emerging industry tracks, including safety and emergency equipment, artificial intelligence, bio‑manufacturing, and high‑end advanced materials. All selected candidates have met stringent national evaluation criteria in technological innovation, industrial chain driving capacity, and the formulation of industry standards.
CSSC Emergency Response has long specialized in the emergency industry, with two core business lines: emergency traffic engineering and flood‑control & rescue equipment. Its product portfolio serves four major transportation scenarios: highway, railway, waterway and aviation.
The company operates three core hubs: a R&D center in Wuhan, a marketing center in Beijing, and a manufacturing base in Chibi. This layout supports a complete industrial ecosystem integrating R&D, manufacturing, sales and after‑sales services.
Its flagship self‑developed products, such as powered floating bridges and modular emergency bridges, have been widely deployed in flood relief, earthquake rescue and large‑scale event support missions in recent years. These products hold a leading market share in China and have been exported to Southeast Asia, Africa, South America and beyond.
In terms of technical capabilities, CSSC Emergency Response has been accredited as a National Enterprise Technology Center, a National High‑Tech Enterprise and a National IPR Advantageous Enterprise. It holds more than 300 authorized patents and has led or participated in drafting multiple national and industrial standards.
The company keeps investing heavily in intelligent and unmanned emergency equipment. It integrates cutting‑edge technologies including BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, 5G communications and artificial intelligence into conventional emergency hardware, bringing several products to an internationally advanced level.
This recognition validates CSSC Emergency Response’s achievements in core technology breakthroughs, industrial‑chain collaborative innovation and emergency supply assurance. It also entrusts the company with key responsibilities: driving regional industrial cluster upgrading and engaging in international competition and cooperation.
Building on this milestone, CSSC Emergency Response will align its roadmap with national industrial priorities. It will scale up R&D investment and foster new business models of “Smart Emergency” and “Emergency‑as‑a‑Service”. The company will also play its exemplary role by forming innovation consortia together with universities, research institutes and upstream & downstream partners. These efforts aim to push China’s safety and emergency equipment industry toward high‑end, intelligent and clustered development, and contribute to national security and high‑quality growth of emerging industries.
