“Rescue Aircraft Carrier”—Powered Pontoon Bridge, Made by China Harzone!

date time:

Recently, Guigang, Guangxi, experienced persistent heavy rainfall, causing river levels to rise above warning levels and resulting in communication outages and blocked roads in some areas. In this critical moment, the powered pontoon bridge—dubbed the “rescue aircraft carrier” by netizens—rushed to the scene to provide emergency assistance. It rapidly erected a temporary passageway on the water’s surface, helping China Aneng rescue personnel evacuate stranded residents and transport disaster relief supplies. The manufacturer of this “rescue aircraft carrier” powered pontoon bridge is none other than China Harzone, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC).

This is not the first time China Harzone’s powered pontoon bridge has “proved its worth” on the front lines of flood relief efforts. Looking back at major domestic flood relief operations in recent years, its steel silhouette has been present at nearly every scene.

In July 2021, in Xinxiang and Hebi, Henan—where multiple levees had breached—rescue teams utilized the powered pontoon bridges manufactured by China Harzone to transport over 200 metric tons of heavy machinery and flood-control materials, evacuate more than 1,400 stranded residents, and reopen critical land routes to isolated areas.

Why has China Harzone’s powered pontoon bridge become the “rescue aircraft carrier”? Four core capabilities set it apart from traditional pontoon bridge equipment:

Deployment Speed: A single module can be deployed in just 10 to 15 minutes; with multiple modules operating simultaneously, a 100-meter-long waterway can be established within one hour;

Load-bearing capacity: A single truss bridge module can support a maximum load exceeding 60 metric tons, allowing large excavators to pass and enabling the simultaneous transport of more than 700 people; it ensures that heavy equipment and vehicles can safely cross water obstacles such as rivers and lakes, efficiently addressing the challenges of large-scale personnel evacuation and cross-water rescue operations.

Current Resistance Rating: It can operate stably under high current speeds, ranking among the leading equipment of its kind both domestically and internationally;

Modular Configuration: Modules can be freely combined—much like building blocks—to form various structures such as pontoon bridges, docks, and floating platforms. Length and area can be adjusted as needed to adapt to different scenarios, including rivers, lakes, and flood-prone urban areas.
