On October 8, a sudden ground collapse accompanied by seepage occurred in the outer river area near the Erkeng Pump Station on the right embankment of the North Bridge over the Yongjiang River in Nanning, Guangxi, posing a severe threat to the dam's safety. On October 10, China Aneng Group joined the rescue operations with a powered pontoon bridge developed by China Harzone. After a day of intense efforts, the situation was effectively controlled by the afternoon of October 10, completely eliminating the safety hazard at the Nanning North Bridge embankment.
During the rescue operation, the powered pontoon bridge proved to be a crucial solution for addressing the challenges of limited land-based workspace and difficulties in transporting large-scale materials, including heavy equipment and supplies. In the outer river area beyond the embankment, complex terrain and restricted operational space made traditional transportation methods inadequate for meeting the demands of the emergency response.
Relying on its formidable transport capacity, the powered pontoon bridge successfully transported heavy equipment and materials, including excavators, ton bags, and stone, to the core work area. This innovative approach significantly boosted filling efficiency, buying precious time for rescue operations. According to statistics, the powered pontoon bridge totally deposited over 1,000 cubic meters of boulders and more than 1,400 cubic meters of crushed stone, which effectively halted the expansion of seepage points and eliminated the risk of dam collapse.
In recent years, the powered pontoon bridges developed by China Harzone have played a vital role in rescue and post-disaster reconstruction efforts in Hunan's Huarong County, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and Sichuan's Luding County; in flood control and rescue operations during Henan's extreme rainstorms, Jiangxi's Poyang Lake, Anhui's Chizhou, and Hubei's Xiaogan. These deployments have demonstrated the equipment's adaptability and practicality. Currently, China Harzone is collaborating with Aneng Group to develop new equipment tailored for multiple rescue scenarios, continuously enhancing comprehensive emergency response capabilities.
