Pontoon Bridge of China Harzone Rescued the Capsized Liner “Eastern Star” on Yangtze River

 

In the evening of June 1st, 2015, a liner named “Eastern Star” from Nanjing to Chongqing capsized in the water area of Jianli County, Hubei Province on Yangtze River. There were 458 person on the liner, including 406 passengers. The capsized liner became the largest concern of all Chinese people, and the Party Central Committee and all walks of life attached great importance to the accident. Besides traffic, healthcare and meteorological departments started rescues urgently, the search and rescue forces from army, navy and air forces also spared no efforts to participate in the rescue. On June 4th, a pontoon bridge force from Guangzhou Military Region used the third generation of heavy duty pontoon bridge produced by China Harzone to arrive at the site to carry out the rescue. After four hours of work in rain, a heavy duty floating bridge that was 8.8m wide and 200m long and with a carrying capacity of 60t was extending to the river surface from the downstream bank of the capsizing point to erect a “water passageway” for blocking water surface effective strengths and transporting personnel.
